Tyler Bain started out by growing up in Saybrook, Illinois, and working at golf courses around the area.
Tyler spent 3 years under long time CIGCSA member Frank Sutter at Indian Springs Golf Course. After
graduating high school Tyler majored in Agri-business with an emphasis in Horticulture at Illinois State.
While at Illinois State, Tyler worked under Rob Hale at Ironwood Golf Course and
then completed an internship at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin in
2007. During his internship he was able to assist with the U.S. Senior
Open in 2007 at Whistling Straits.
After graduating Illinois State, Tyler became an Assistant Superintendent
at the Country Club of Peoria under Andy Morris. During his 4 years at
the CCP, he was part of a course renovation that included the resurfacing
of all the greens, tees, and fairways. Tyler has been the Superintendent
at Ironwood Golf Course for 2 years.
Outside of golf, Tyler has a wife Leeann and a son Brayden (2 ½) and they are expecting an addition
to the family in September. Work and being with family take up most of his time, but when the time
allows grilling/cooking along with playing golf are his hobbies.
